Interceptor R - ReLIVE the dream

The Jensen Interceptor R is a quantum leap in quality and performance. Building on over 40 years of experience and development, the Interceptor R is a very special Grand Tourer
Every car is stripped to its shell before being stabilised, remodeled to accommodate the subtle design changes such as the deeper front valance and modified side vents.
The General Motors LS3 V8 engine delivers an impressive 429bhp through either a 4-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox. Independent rear suspension developed specifically to fit the “R”, ensures handling and performance that the original designers could not have imagined.
The purpose built exhaust system ensures the Interceptor R sounds wonderful and uprated suspension on the front wheels helps to give the driver a unique driving experience. Finally the AP 6-pot braking system complements the additional engine power with appropriate control.
The Jensen Interceptor R is a true Grand Tourer. Lifted from its past and re-engineered to meet the demands of today’s motoring, it is powerful without being brash, luxurious without feeling cosseted, and most of all, uniquely hand-built for its owner. It would be our pleasure to build one of these exclusive cars for you
Interceptor R Classic - ReCREATE the dream

Many current owners have asked us how they might benefit from the quality and engineering developments embodied in the Interceptor R series. They are proud owners of well restored and sound vehicles so don’t need, or want, the ‘restorative’ element of the works. However they would like the reliability and performance to be gained from the new engineering which will extend the life of the car and ensure many miles of reliable, enjoyable classic motoring.
Responding to such requests, we are pleased to offer the Interceptor R Classic:
- Remove original engine & gearbox, reposition mounts and supports, replace with LS3 Corvette engine and 4-speed automatic gear box. (We can even refit the original gear selector however this does mean that you cannot select 1st gear manually – the original gearbox was only 3-speed)
- Upgrade front brakes, suspension and steering mechanism as per the Interceptor R
- Fit Interceptor R independent rear suspension system, prop shaft and limited slip differential
- Replace fuel tank and exhaust pipes with R sec
- New gauges and engine management throughout
- 17” wheels all round
Owners can select from the ‘restorative’ element of the works according to the condition of the car. This may include new leather, new carpet sets, new seals, electrical wiring and is dependent on vehicle condition and owner requirements.
A further possibility is for us to source you a pre-restored vehicle and then to bring it up to R specification engineering. If this is of interest then please call us.

Supercharger Option - ReDEFINE the dream

It is, fundamentally, a Jensen Interceptor, however look carefully and you’ll see the badge at the rear, hinting at the power under the bonnet.
The brand new Corvette LS3, 6.2 litre engine, is augmented with an integral supercharger delivering over 600bhp.
As well as all the magnificent Interceptor R engineering and design improvements, the rear wheel arches are flared to accommodate wider 8J x 17” rear wheels and the car is fitted with larger diameter vented brake discs to the rear.
Every Jensen Interceptor R, is a fusion of state-of-the-art systems with classic luxury and contemporary design and with the supercharger option, this is even more so.
It is a rare thing to be able to offer a unique driving experience, however this car accelerates and drives like no Jensen ever has before. The timeless style and elegance of the design is now matched with the power and efficiency of a brand new, supercharged engine to provide effortless acceleration across the range and deliver reliable, memorable performance.
Each Interceptor R has all the passion of the original Italian design, the power of an American V8 engine, and quality from time-served British craftsmen.
