What if there was a Jensen that did 20 miles to the gallon, had a new powerful engine that gave it modern reliability, 21st century brakes, and much improved road holding? After almost three years of development, Jensen International Automotive is pleased to offer the first serious development of the Jensen Interceptor for over thirty years. Powered by the General Motors 6 litre V8 LS2 engine, the Jensen Interceptor S boasts 414bhp, independent rear suspension, APS 6-pot racing brakes with vented disks, seventeen inch wheels with low profile tyres and a brand-new 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Body/Chassis.
Unitary construction as original 1976 Interceptor with revised front skirt. Constructed from a carefully selected donor car that has been returned to bare metal, refurbished and electrophoretically dipped to stabilise and rust-proof to current new-car standards. Finished using modern paint systems to customer's selected colour scheme.
Interior Trim.
Full leather interior to upgraded specification using new hides and double-stitched with cross-hatching detail in customer's choice of colour. Wilton carpets finished to customer's choice of colour.
Engine.
General Motors LS2 - latest generation all-aluminium V8 with electronic engine management, 6.0 litre capacity producing 430bhp in 2007 application.
Transmission.
GM 4-speed electronic automatic with overdrive. Final limited slip differential.
Suspension.
Front - Independent double wishbone, coil springs, adjustable dampers, anti-roll bar. Rear - Independent single wishbone with two pairs of adjustable coil-over gas dampers.
Brakes.
Front - AP Racing 6-pot callipers with 330mmx32mm vented discs Rear - 280mm solid discs with single pot callipers and internal handbrake
Wheels.
Unique 17" x 7" aluminium rims in original Jensen style
Registered as the original donor vehicle.
The Interceptor S is coach built and is one of a limited edition of 50 cars, individually numbered.
